Travel Steady
Psalm 37:34 says to travel steadily along his path.
As I read this recently, that word - steady - jumped off the page.
Faith is not a one-time moment or a single decision we make and move on from.
It is a way of life. A daily walk.
A steady choice to keep showing up, trusting, and following, even when the way forward is not clear.
When we take a road trip, we do not make the first turn the GPS gives us and then wonder why we have not arrived yet. Each turn matters. Each one moves us closer, even when the destination still feels far away. It is only when we reach the end that we can look back and see how every direction played a part in the journey.
Faith works much the same way.
When we look back on our lives, we do not see just one moment where we stayed faithful. We see a path formed by many moments. A series of decisions to trust God again and again. One step after another, taken over time.
Traveling steadily means we do not expect one act of faith to carry us the whole way. It means continuing to walk, continuing to trust, continuing to follow.
It looks like choosing faith in seasons of uncertainty.
It looks like moving forward when grief has left us weary and unsure.
It looks like receiving joy with open hands and gratitude.
Over time, those steady steps begin to tell a story.
And when we finally look back, we will not see a single moment of belief. We will see a path shaped by faithfulness. His path. Marked by steady obedience, quiet trust, and the grace that carried us along the way.
Step after step.
Season after season.
Keep showing up.
Keep walking.
Keep the faith.
